A Passion for Creating

My name is Aleksey, and I am the CEO of HappyMoon. My story begins in childhood. From an early age, I loved creating things—whether from wood or any material I could get my hands on. As I grew up, married, and became a father, that passion for crafting found new meaning.

First Nightlight – From Idea to Creation

When my daughter was born, I wanted to make something special for her with my own hands. My first creation was a wooden doll. Then, we needed a soft, soothing nightlight for her room—one that wouldn’t disturb her sleep. I searched everywhere but found only too-bright, glaring lights. So, I decided to make one myself.

Using simple tools, my wife and I crafted our first nightlight—a star-shaped lamp made from Baltic birch plywood, painted with water-based colors, and equipped with LED lights for a warm, ambient glow. It was safe, wire-free, and never overheated. Excited by our creation, we shared it in a Facebook group for young moms, and the response was overwhelming.

Growing Demand

Requests came in, and soon, we were making nightlights for friends, fellow parents, and beyond. At first, we worked in our tiny 5-square-meter kitchen. As demand grew, we moved to a rented garage, but even that became too small. Eventually, we found a space in an abandoned factory in the small town of Sigulda. It was in bad condition, but our passion was unstoppable—we transformed the factory into our workshop and bought our first CNC machine to improve production. For two years, we focused solely on nightlights.

First Climber – For My Daughter

During this time, our daughter grew, and I wanted to encourage her physical development. I bought a traditional Swedish climbing wall, but she was too afraid to use it. The varnished surface made it slippery, and it took up too much space. That’s when inspiration struck—I decided to design something safer, more compact, and more engaging for her.

I researched existing designs but found gaps in all of them. Determined to create something unique, I avoided outside influence and built my own prototype from scratch. The result? Our first transformable climbing triangle! It was stable, safe, and easy to store, offering endless opportunities for movement and play. Soon, other parents saw its value, and demand grew.

The climber became a lifesaver during the COVID-19 lockdowns when children couldn’t play outside. Parents appreciated its safety features. Before launching it for sale, my daughter had tested it countless times, giving me complete confidence in its quality.

Expanding Our Assortment

As our business grew, we realized we couldn’t manage everything on our own. That’s when our team began to grow—bringing together people who were just as inspired as we were to create something truly useful for children. Together, we brainstormed and developed new products, each designed to encourage movement and play.

With our team’s shared passion, HappyMoon introduced floor beds, unbreakable mirrors, rockers, and climbing cubes. Year after year, our product range expanded, always keeping child development and safety at the core of our designs.

This year, as HappyMoon celebrates its 10th anniversary, we’ve launched two new add-ons: a rope ladder and a rope with holders. Inspired by my son Mark’s love for movement, we also created a brand-new indoor climbing set.

Looking Ahead: A Commitment to Quality and Child Development

Our mission remains the same—to bring joy to children and peace of mind to parents. As the CEO of HappyMoon, my priority has always been child development, safety, and quality. We don’t aim to produce cheaply and sell at high prices. Instead, every product we make brings warmth to our hearts, knowing it helps kids grow, explore, and thrive.
